How to arrive
You can get to Timisoara by plane (there is an international
airport here) by train or by car (bus).
In the following you will be given information about the main ways
of access.
By air
If you choose the most comfortable way and come directly
to Timisoara International Airport there is a single bus you can
take from there that leaves you in the city center (or a taxi).
There is an info center inside the airport where you can be provided
with any information that you need.

By train
Please go to www.cfr.ro
or www.bahn.de
(recommended) for information about the trains schedule and the
way you can find your best connections.
By car

Money
Romania 's currency is the 'leu' (ROL), meaning 'lion'
(plural, 'lei'). 1 euro is currently worth approximately 37,000
lei. It is available in 10,000; 50,000; 100,000; 500,000 and 1,000,000
lei bills (500, 1,000 and 5,000 lei coins also circulate). All Romanian
bills are made of plastic.
Changing travelers cheques can only be done in banks. You can also
find and use a large number of ATMs that accept all types of credit
cards/ATM cards (Visa, Eurocard, Mastercard etc).

- A hamburger in the campus is 35,000 (bigger than McDonalds's)
Pizza is between 80,000 and 150,000.
Dinner (middle price) in the campus costs about
60,000 - 70,000 and you get stuffed!
Visas
Citizens of EU member countries don't need visas to enter Romania. Your passport will be stamped when you enter the country and you
will be entitled to stay for up to 60 days in Romania free of charge.
If you want to extend your stay, you will need to present yourself
at the visa extension office.
You don't need a visa to enter in Romania if you are from: Bulgaria, Russia, Yugoslavia. (For more information on visas, go to the
